"With sundown
approaching, we checked out a place near Alpine.
It was a fortuitous decision. The Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge,
in a beautiful setting on the Alpine Divide, offers
clean rooms at reasonable prices with a fine saloon
and restaurant. As the summer day wound down, several
locals and guests gathered a the saloon to relax
and converse. It seemed we were living just right!"
Mike Schornick, American Iron Magazine, 7-05

Tal-Wi-Wi
Lodge hosts several car clubs and motorcycle groups
every year and also organizes the Cool
August Nights Car Show each August. Located in the beautiful
White Mountains of Eastern Arizona, we offer a great
place to get away for an overnighter, a weekend or even
longer. We are 3 1/2 miles north of Alpine, Arizona,
and the lodge is 8,300 feet in elevation. That makes
for a nice, cool get away from the traffic and the heat.
We have 20 clean, comfortable rooms, a restaurant and
a saloon on the property, and have done everything from
a full weekend schedule for a group, to just serving
food and drinks and letting the beautiful scenery do
the rest.
Want a gimmick rally? We can do that.
Want a poker run? We can do that. Want a special barbecue
or even a full sit-down Prime Rib dinner for your group?
We can do that, too!
Besides the cool summer weather, one of
the big attractions is just getting to the lodge. Among
the several routes is the Coronado Trail (US Highway
191) that winds from the desert floor in Morenci to
over 9,000 feet in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.
It is 80 miles of winding mountain road with breathtaking
vistas all along the way. We have the ideal location
for a ride from Phoenix or Tucson - over the Mogollon
Rim or the beautiful Salt River Canyon. We are a few
hours away from Albuquerque or El Paso, perfect for
a day ride. Arrive at Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge in the afternoon,
enjoy cocktails on the deck and dinner in our full-service
restaurant and watch the incredible stars come out around
a crackling fire in this cool mountain retreat.
So if a nice getaway
sounds like a fun idea, please contact us. We would
love to hear from you!
